As much as we obsess over classic kicks, like Nike's all white Air Max's and adidas's Stan Smiths, there is something undeniably exciting about a new pair of shiny limited edition sneakers. Move aside Converse's glittering JW Anderson collaboration and Reebok's fuzzy Local Heroes trainers as there's a new set of gloriously girlish Vans that we think you need to see. And, dare we say it, are designed to be Instagrammed!
Last autumn the skate brand collaborated with Opening Ceremony on a limited release satin collection. The shiny range spoke to the ballet trend that's been emerging on the catwalks and the street. While an unlikely textile for trainers, this bunhead fabric has become a popular choice for high-end labels looking to dip their toes in the athleisure arena. It started with Fenty by Rihanna who debuted a pastel pair of satin sneakers that sold out quicker than you can blink. However, this wasn't the end of the trend as these were closely followed by Stuart Weitzman, Jill Sander, Miu Miu, Superga, Nike and Zara's own versions.

Building on the success of their OC collab, Vans is back with a new Satin Lux pack. The collection refashions their classic Old Skool and Authentic styles in silky light-reflective satin. The range comes in four colours with the rose gold and pewter silver styles particularly catching our eye.
While the original all-white trainer isn't going anywhere and the dad trainer's trend isn't budging, this is a breath of fresh air for anyone fancying something different. With fashion week just weeks away, we predict these will be popping up in street style shots across the globe.
The collection starts at £70 and is currently available from Foot Asylum.
