It’s A British Takeover For Vanity Fair’s Hollywood Issue

This year th_e Vanity Fair_ Hollywood Issue is celebrating the British Invasion, with five out of the 10 actors on the cover from the UK. Inside the mag 44 of the actors are British.

On the cover shot by Annie Leibovitz in all their finery we have Benedict Cumberbatch, Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones, David Oyelowo and Sienna Miller. They appear alongside Channing Tatum, Adam Adams, Reese Witherspoon, Oscar Isaac and Miles Teller.

This Brit-takeover reflects the shortlist for this year's Oscars (or should we say Br-oscars). Eddie Redmayne, Felicity Jones, Keira Knightley, Rosamund Pike and Benedict Cumberbatch are all nominated for Oscars this year.

Annie Leibovitz has photographed all of the Hollywood Issues, apart from three, since 1995. She said to Vanity Fair: “Usually you shoot from fairly far away, but we wanted to get really close to the actors. We made an effort to create a feeling of intimacy. I pushed into them, shooting to the left and then the right, coming in as tight as I could.”

Inside there is a feature entitled 'The British Are Coming' with Keira Knightley, Emily Blunt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Natalie Dormer, Tom Hiddleston and more photographed in the Hollywood hills.

This is the most British actors to ever appear in the Hollywood Issue - there were three Brits in the covers in 2014, 2003 and 2002.
