Forget camo and khaki, we’re now blending in with the upholstery of er, trains. Yep, it turns out dressing like a train seat is a very cool and very real thing. Have a look at our Social Media Editor Emma rocking a pair of the very finest tube seat flares here so you know WTF we’re going on about. Artist Menjana Stevenson even made a cool project about this very idea but with bus seats. But we think trains are the next big thing.
Jonathan Saunders showed us what the train seats of the future might look like at his AW15 show on Sunday. And even our fave Henry Holland debuted a few tartan and diamond prints at his AW15 show this Saturday – it was sooo East Midlands Line. See, it’s totally a thing that is happening right now.
If you’re convinced and are now itching to go out and buy something train-y, be clever about it and don’t mix too many prints. You don’t want to risk making people feel travel sick if they stare at you for too long. If you’re feeling cautious then wear your tube print with something plain like a black top, or tights, or maybe some cool black boots. In short, keep elsewhere simple.
