It has, without doubt, been the summer of the dress. Not one specific dress, of course, but a total riot of wafty midis, puff sleeved minis and basically everything else in between. We've seen the return of the babydoll, a 330 per cent increase in searches for prairie dresses and a Zara dress that became so popular, it now has an entire Instagram account dedicated to its very existence. So, to be a dress that stands out among all that competition is to be very impressive indeed. And given that sales of Tu's gingham midi have increased by an enormous 170 per cent, it's safe to say we're impressed.
The dress, which is a cotton-linen blend, has a button-down skirt, short sleeves and is incredibly flattering. It's comfy, too, and ideal for anything the summer has to throw at you (BBQs, holidays – you could probably even wear it for a wedding if you dressed it up enough). It was also a very reasonable £22, until it became an even more reasonable £16.50, owing to an offer Tu is currently running across its clothing lines.
