Just because you're wearing vintage doesn't mean you can't get some serious summer-trend mileage out of your clothes. So we asked blogger Eliza Moore (of Let's Dust) to raid their rails to see what she could dig out...

The Jumpsuit

Your vintage jumpsuit should be ultra sassy, have a slightly oversized fit and – if it has a button-down front – should be worn loose and relaxed. For an instant babe outfit, go bold with print and look for a high waist and a wide leg for a retro diva feel. A great go-to for dinners and nights out. Pair with a wooden wedge and find a cute clutch.

The Oversized Denim Shirt

Aim for an established denim brand like Levis or Wrangler and your vintage denim shirt will be super multifunctional. Wear it oversized for that ‘borrowed from you boyfriend’ feel, or wear it buttoned up as a dress or undone and the sleeves rolled up and you can throw it over near enough anything as a lightweight alternative to a jacket.

The Ditsy Floral Dress

An absolute staple in anyone’s wardrobe – a vintage lover or not – is a ditzy floral summer dress. Cute and short, or a bit sleeker in a longer maxi/midi fit, you can usually recognise them for their girly, tea dress aesthetic, with its loose 90s skater style and buttoned-up front. Perfect for those long summer days to nights. I’d toughen this up with a good old vintage leather or tasseled suede jacket - another must-have vintage staple.

The Hawaiian shirt

Come on, we've all had one at some point! It is truly the epitome of summer and great for the those barbecue get-togethers or Club Tropicana-themed parties. You can opt for a slightly more moody colour palate, or stay true to its roots and go all-out tropical bright.

The Vintage T-shirt & Cut-off Denim Shorts

Whether you choose a band t-shirt, or any American memorabilia for that matter, you're pretty much set to achieve that on-trend US dessert-wander vibe. The cut-off shorts are the tough answer to the soft, worn T-shirt and when you add a little crochet you'll be perfectly attired to play in the the festival fields. It’s a rock ’n’ roll vibe, pretty yet rough around the edges.

The Dungarees

Full length, shorts or as a dress, dungarees are an androgynous, timeless classic. A true must have! So useful it's a look that you can rely on; perfect for those day-off errands, worn nicely over a stripy, toweling T-shirt or for instant easy outfit appeal just add a tank top and you're good-to-go.
