We Try On All The Must-Haves In New Look So You Don’t Have To

This Changing Room Selfie proves it's time to visit New Look post haste

So it turns out quite a lot of you shop at New Look – yes, when we asked you recently where you purchased said clothes on your back it ranked really highly. And that made us think, with shame, that we'd never staged a Changing Room Selfies, there. Quelle horreur! So we decided to rectify this, post-haste.

I've always loved New Look for shoes – people don't realise how strong they are; I found a pair of silver block heeled sandals that were a dead ringer for the Stella McCartney ones and a pair of lilac kitten heels that had Sophia Webster written all over them – but I hadn't had a trying on session in there for quite a while. What I found was the perfect LBJ (little black jumpsuit) and plenty of summer essentials.

A seriously aspirational black jumpsuit

I can't believe that this is New Look. I've always perved on black jumpsuits from afar – on Angelina Jolie, for one – but never actually seen one I wanted to try on. Until I saw this – and was so damn impressed. The ruched bust fits perfectly, it isn't tight on the hips, pelvis or bum (no-one wants a strained-looking crotch area) and it tapers gently at the ankle, with a big sash to tie at the back. Wowee.

The new Canadian Tuxedo

Yep, here I am showing you yet another double denim combination. I'll never stop, kids, never. This time I'm road-testing some denim joggers – and I'm enjoying their sporty ease.

A dress that smells of Ibiza

This neon embroidered white cotton slip dress reminds me of the amazing swimwear designer, Juliet Dunn – but it's a fraction of the price. You should always pack a couple of little dresses that look ready for Ibiza – even if you're going on a Club 18-30 holiday in Faliraki. Your dress will still look classy, even if your behaviour is not.

The off-the-shoulder ruffled top

You can't move for off-the-shoulder ruffled tops on the high street; and thank goodness, because they're so unexpectedly casual yet sexy – and we've spent many hours each summer previous to this one searching eBay desperately for one. Enjoy the recent glut, then and celebrate with this floral one. As for the jeans, I abhor the term 'jeggings' but these ones are a great colour and much more flattering than a denim legging typically is.

Some excellent pantaloons and a boho preppy jacket

The woven boxy jacket stinks of Made In Chelsea; but I'm not saying that should put you off. Naw-aw. Pair with some cropped pantaloons and it takes on a completley different tone. I'm absolutely obsessed with cropped pantaloons, which billow jauntily around your ankles, at the moment. They're the definition of anti-sexy sexy; because there's nothing sexier than a girl who feels comfortable and looks like a particularly fragrant clown.
