We Try On All The Floral Frocks In Miss Selfridge So You Don’t Have To

Because there are lots of them and who doesn't want to frolic in a floral frock?

It's Topshop's pastoral younger sister – and by that, we mean that there are a lot of florals at Miss Selfridge. So much so that it could only be the subject of this week's visitation, for Changing Room Selfies.

We hadn't been to Miss Selfridge before, CRS realised with a bit of a jolt. Not being particularly girlish, the florals and bohemian neons that are Miss Selfridge's bread and butter had floated by us. But every shop is worth a sift and, as ever, it was proved fruitful – a few of these floral dresses would be dead useful for a wedding/poolslide shimmy this summer.

The wedding dress

CRS-MS-1

Not* the *wedding dress, but a wedding dress to wear to a wedding. Phewf – why are weddings so political, eh? Anyway, this mint green floaty maxi dress would be a sure-fire winner for any summer wedding. Pair with some bronzer and Bob's your uncle.

The tea dress

I lived in floral tea dresses at university – which means that I had to ween myself off them quite brutally. Trying this pink floral tea dress on, after a self-imposed ban, I immediately remembered why I'd long outstayed my welcome in them. Wear it to Glyndebourne with sandals or Glasto with biker boots (naat – it's over!) but basically you can wear it anywhere.

The scuba slip dress

You've seen a scuba dress; you've no doubt worn a trillion camisole dresses. But have you met the scuba midi camisole dress? I have to say, I eyed this with trepidation before I put it on. But it's actually quite a nice fit. You just have to get used to a different kind of fabric. But could be quite a good 'week in Alicante' option.

The beach romper

A romper is basically a short playsuit – which is, in turn, a short jumpsuit. I just wanted to brief you fully before we proceed. This frilly romper has some really cute ’50s vibes about it. I wanted to prance along Brighton Beach, with that frilly groin bit bunching up all delightfully and anti-sexually – and maybe run it into the sea, squealing, with a Mr Whippy. I mean, that's just me.

The all-day jumpsuit

Not strictly sure these are florals, but watugonnado? This is my game. This jumpsuit would look great with some chunky black sandals and (get ready for the cliché) 'can take you from work, to play!' Enjoy.
