Last week petite blogger Olivia Purvis raided the rails at Topshop Petite for a special guest-star appearance of Changing Room Selfies. So this week we figured it was the turn of the tall girls.
So we sent London Tall Girl to Long Tall Sally, that stalwart of shops for anyone over 5ft 9in, to see what new gems they had in store.
**Dungarees meets Tropical **
So first up are these dungarees which have been all over the high street this summer! And yes, finally, I have found a pair that finish on my ankles instead of the dreaded ankle swinger look my mother used to dress me in when I was 10.

And the one time I actually find a pair in the correct length, of course, I go and turn the ankles up (making them into yes... a cropped style) for a more relaxed, cooler look. The tropical print high-neck top is a great fit too if you have a longer body. And it actually fits cropped – always a bonus.

Transitional Co-ord
I love co-ord sets and I absolutely love midi skirts, so this beauty was a dream. All you need is this twinset, and you’re set for a summer’s day out. Come autumn, you can add tights and a pastel, fluffy coat to keep you warm. Plus, you can mix and match with other items in your closet to increase your cost per wear.

I’ve always been a fan of beaded necklines as they solve the ‘which necklace goes with my outfit?’ drama in the morning. The only neg is that the pockets on the skirt slightly show through, but nothing a little ‘Primarni’ slip wouldn't hide.

Pleats are us
Maxis were made for tall girls, so to find one long enough is a treat... that luxury of it draping on the floor is pure bliss. Pleated styles complement an hourglass figure too, and this maxi will surely encourage you to sa-shay down the pavement feeling light as a feather, as it did me in the store.
Adding a metallic top lifts the navy for an easy work-to-bar look.

**Androgynously checkered **
This checked jersey blazer is begging for a trilby and brogues. But instead I opted for a top knot and stilettos (well, I can only work with what I have at the time of my shop), plus a contrasting pleated shirt and leather-look leggings. So come autumn, that’s what I'll be pairing this with.
Length – check. Fit – check. Lightweight – ding, ding, ding. A seriously awesome blazer which, of course, had to come home with me.

Covered in Lace
I’m not usually one for a bodycon dress but this lacy number really surprised me. And after the Burberry SS14 shows, the lace effect has taken the high street by storm. This dress is just yummy: super soft and stretchy, just above the knee, yet hugging all the right places. Perfect.

My type of onesie
Jumpsuits are a summer staple for me during the daytime (less night time due to the dreaded toilet saga of taking it off and then putting it on again). This wrap-front floral number has a zip in the back which makes toilette manoeuvres that little bit easier, plus it doesn’t restrict your movement or give you a saggy crutch. I felt very relaxed in this outfit yet still put together.

Leather look
Leatherette skirts always make me feel that little bit chic. Well, that really goes for anything in leather form. This pencil skirt is coated in a high-shine denim fabric which hugs the hips, while still allowing movement.
Adding a striped dress, (yes, dress) underneath was the closest thing I could find to a breton top, but it works so well. Always a great trick to keep in mind when you’re looking for that perfect piece to complete your outfit in your closet. Anything goes.
The skirt sits just above the knee and has side zip pockets, back pockets and belt loops. Basically a leatherette version of a denim skirt. Love!

So a tall CRS would not be complete without a pair of pj bottoms as these are the one thing us tall girls struggle to find. Sick of trailing through the menswear dept hoping no one sees you, or constantly nabbing your bf’s pair? Then LTS saves the day as there are a variety of prints and materials in a 36in to mix and match with camisoles.
As soon as I saw these Cath Kidston lookalikes, I had to try them on and loved the fact that the hems were long enough for my 37inch legs – they actually touched the floor (excuse the neon pink toes). Made from a soft fluffy fabric you can be sure your bum will be kept warm in the winter months. Buy now as I predict these babies will fly off the shelves.
