We Try On Everything Blue in Sandro So You Don’t Have To

Today's instalment of Changing Room Selfies is anything but depressing

OK, so we've ventured into a shop that might require you shopping there at the beginning of the month when you haven't spent all your earnings on Chicken Cottage and cabs home. But the great thing about French store Sandro is that with just one piece from them, you can instantly make your wardrobe look like it's that of a chic Parisian – rather than, well anything but a chic Parisian. (Tip: they also have great sales).

This season Sandro is on especially fine form, with more grungey plaid than Seattle circa 1992, as well as plenty of the soft silk shirts, slick black jeans and flicky-hemmed skirts we've come to love them for, with chunky style, boyish leather shoes acting as the icing on the cake.

Much of it comes in a blue so bright that will look ace with the black and grey pieces that make up the rest of your winter wardrobe - and cheer you up in the long winter that we're thinking the UK is heading into.

We tried on all the styles, so you don't even have to venture into the rain IRL. Tough job, but someone's got to do it right?

A zip-front is a nice update on this cropped 'Clueless' jumper and adds versitility too. It would be great over dresses, with jeans, or, as here, with these super-cool hybrid sporty and tailored trousers.

Cardigan Glen, from £145, Trousers Perrine, from £145, Derby Alvea shoes, from £295

The plaid mini skirt

A mini skirt is a good in on the plaid trend if baggy layers are not your thing, and tbh, when has one ever looked bad since 1995 anyway? Answer: never. Check it up even further with this lace and silk cami, which we promise will look top with everything else you own too.

Jenny skirt, from £114, Eve cami, from £129, Derby Alvea shoes, from £295

The silk shirt

Who doesn't love a silk shirt? It feels good, it looks good – simple as that. Do as French Vogue editor Emmanuelle Alt does and wear it with slim black jeans.

Cylia shirt, £150, Pearl jeans, £114

The fancy jumper

A sheer shoulder panel makes this electric blue jumper a little more out of the ordinary than your average jumper – even more so when layered over Sandro's gorgeous plaid, silk slip dress.

Richa dress, £193

The sporty dress

Sporty is the style in trend that's going nowhere fast, and even if the boyish shapes it often comes in don't work so well for you, the athletic detail on the neckline of this othewise mega-feminine dress is pretty much all you need to get in on it.

Reva dress, £145
