'This is my first flirtation with flares since the bootcut denim days of my teens and I'm in love with them. My legs feel virtually endless! Worn with a simple black polo neck, a felt hat and a colourful crochet cardigan, it's not too all-out Austin Powers. Colourful cardigans are always in abundance in vintage shops and, when the rest of your look is relatively pared back, they add a touch of fun.'

'Nordic jumpers are my favourite kind of festive woolly but don't need to be worn just with jeans. Try with skirts and trainers. Vintage shops are a great place to pick up old-school trainers like Adidas Gazelles, Stan Smiths and Reebok Classics for a snip of the price.'
