We Tried On All The Colours In COS So You Don't Have To

As much as I love a flash-in-the-pan trend, I always come back to COS for those all important wardrobe staples. It’s almost as if the place is a trend in itself, things never seem to date, the quality’s decent and body-con doesn’t seem to exist – which is great if you’re feeling a little ‘delicate’. Although you’ll find a fair amount of neutrals, there’s also some carefully chosen pops of colour throughout the store, so I thought I’d show you my pick of the bunch. It is meant to be summer after all.

The Dress You’ll Never Get Lost In

If you wear this to a festival, then you’ll probably be able to spot yourself in the TV highlights thanks to the particular shade of yellow. You may think you have enough baggy jersey dresses already, but the cut of this is really nice and the pockets sit at a flattering point. Job done.

The Surprisingly Wearable Trews

I was a little bit dubious about these green trousers but luckily complementary neutrals are never too far away, so you can swiftly build a look around a bolder piece. These are a great pop of colour to wear while the weather is sorting itself out.

Jacket, £115; Trousers, £79

The Only Full Skirt You’ll Need

This ticks all of the hypothetical skater skirt boxes; thick, structured fabric; unusual pleated detail and failsafe colour for S/S15. It’s one of my favourite silhouettes, mainly because it balances out a boyish figure and shows a moderate amount of leg, so you won’t look completely ridiculous if it starts raining.

T-shirt, £12; Skirt, £48

The Pink Dress That’s Not Super-Girly

COS knows how to make a fuss-free dress. The embossed texture provides just the right amount of subtle interest so that the colour is the main talking point. Wear with trainers and a denim jacket for every day or some of their ACNE-esque sandals for a smarter look.

Dress, £69

The Versatile Asymmetric Skirt

Remember when uneven hems were all over the place? This number reinvents the trend and looks clean and modern, rather than raggedy. You could style this up in a sporty way with a V-neck tee or keep things sultry with an off the shoulder crop top.

T-shirt, £29; Skirt, £69

The Twist n’ Drape dress

‘Not another baggy dress!’ I hear you cry. Seriously, hear me out, though, how amazing is this strategically placed fold? The design team always manages to create shapes you never knew you needed and this green number looks so much more expensive than a high-street buy.
