We Tried On All The Best Festival Stuff At H&M So You Don't Have To

Festival fashion can be tricky, especially in the UK. What will the weather be like? What will keep you warm from sunrise to set? What can you fit into a tiny backpack? And most importantly, WHAT is the most practical thing to don for all the dire toilet trips involved?!

The good news is H&M has totally got you covered with some cracking festival-inspired pieces. We tried on all the highlights of the brand’s current collection in preparation for festival season so you don’t have to.

The Cool Kimono

6

Throw it over a dress, a top and jeans or a simple playsuit like we have here…the options are endless with a kimono. H&M’s pretty floral one is great as doubling up as nightwear post-drunken pass out. Wear this and get photographed by a swimming pool/in a sunny setting/with a Kendall Jenner lookalike and you might just convince people you were at Coachella, instead of, well, anywhere in the UK that’s bound to be bloody freezing.

Playsuit, £7.99, Kimono, £29.99

The Fruity Jumpsuit

A jumpsuit is super practical for festivals…until it’s time to go to the toilet. This aside, they’re pretty much perfect for jumping on shoulders in crowds and dancing with no flashing fear. Throw on a bright waterproof jacket on top when the inevitable British showers hit, or if you’re lucky and the sun shines, a cool straw hat will look equally as cool. Oh, and have we mentioned how insanely cute the pineapple print on this one is? Festival fashion gold.

Jumpsuit, £19.99, available in store

The Boho Skirt

For those who fancy themselves as a bit of a token festival hippy, this skirt is the dream. Pair with a simple vest that you can wear throughout the weekend with other outfits, and you’re good to go. What’s especially great about this one is the split: perfect for catching a breeze if it gets warm and for a bit of wild dancing at the late night silent disco. Let’s just ignore my Angelina style leg in this shot however…

The Slightly Mental Option

Let’s just cut to the chase: this floor-length frayed top will mean you get caught on things…A LOT. But when it looks this damn good, does it really matter? If you’re not really prepared to get your entire stomach out (and who is?), combine it with a pair of high-waisted jeans. Oh, and bring a jacket for the evening when it gets colder.

Top (part of bikini set), £79.99, Jeans, £14.99

The Super Girly Dress (which, heads up, WILL get dirty)

So we can all agree it’s maybe not the most practical option, but this number will make you look summery and happy at any festival. Throw on a flowery crown to top the look off and to ensure girly festival perfection. Be prepared to accept it will probably get covered in mud and beer, but that just means it’s vintage, right?

Dress, £19.99

The Fail-Safe

Really stuck for what to wear? I suggest keeping it simple. Frayed denim shorts are great all-rounders and can be worn with just about anything you bring along. This peasant blouse (yes, they are totally back in) is also ideal for your festival backpack as it’s floaty, cool and great for layering. Oh, and for those chillier days, bring along this seriously great 70s-inspired tassled jacket.

Top, £24.99, available in store, shorts, available in store, jacket, £29.99
