Alexa, Anna, and co - you can go home - the frow is over. Well ok, we exaggerate, but as of this morning it’s no longer needed because Topshop and Twitter (the perfect pair, if you ask us) have teamed up this #LFW to bring all the biggest trends to billboards round the country - so no one need go anywhere near a show.
Topshop will analyse tweets from all the LFW shows (from influencers and designers) to find trends as they emerge - and then instantly send the results to digital billboards around the country. As key trends emerge they will appear in the Topshop trend cloud as hashtags, for instance #colourblocking, #pleats and #utility, and subsequently feature on the billboards. And the six billboards will be located in key shopping areas in London, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow.
More so, if you tweet @topshop with the trend hashtag you like, you will be tweeted back a curated outfit that you can simply click to buy. Simple right? So for instance say you see and love the punk trend at Burberry (we’re predicting here – if it’s a thing you owe us a fiver) then Topshop will send you back the perfect punk looks in a neat shopping list – in high street prices, obviously.
We know that Topshop has always been the best at democratizing their shows, and bringing LFW to the people, having live-streamed their LFW runway since 2012, but this is the next step.
