Your alarm goes. It's 7am, and totally pitch black outside. Not to mention it's totally freezing (why do our housemates always turn off the heating!!). All you want to do is stay UNDER your duvet. But no such luck. Nope, you've got to get up - and you need to get dressed and looking smoking. But WTF to wear? Most your nicest clothes are in a slightly sodden pile at the end of the bed (must do a wash!). And you've got about 12 minutes until you need to be on the bus to work.

Well, fear not, we've searched the world of the internet and found some helpful hacks from some girls that are pros at getting dressed to help you:

**Tavi Gevinson, Actress and Rookie Editor **

'I brush my teeth in the shower to save time, which my roommate, Petra Collins, thinks is gross… but I think it saves time. I usually end up making a huge mess every morning when I get dressed. My outfit affects my whole day. I'm always running late and I'm always trying to make sure I feel really good in what I'm wearing, because if you're wearing something you're not comfortable in, it ruins your day. I have a lot of matching sets. Half of my closet is Barbie clothes—PVC skirts, cropped fuzzy sweaters and velvet minis'

Michelle Phan, Vlogger

'I know this sounds crazy, but skipping your AM cleanse every so often isn’t the end of the world. Just make sure you didn’t sweat too much the night before! If your skin needs a morning pick me up, just use a refreshing facial spray instead'.

Alexa Chung, Model and Presenter

‘In the bath/shower/over the sink (I don’t know what you like) take your time to imagine your day and how you’d like to look as you are doing all those boring tasks/potentially running into annex or future partner/nemesis…’

Soraya Bakhitir, Blogger

'In winter, I always pick the shoes and coat for my outfit first and then I put on pants, T-shirt and sweater, scarf and bag.'

Charlie Byrne, The Debrief Fashion Ed

'The pouch trick. I swap handbags all the time, and it drives me mad when I end up forgetting to put my work swipe card or oyster card into the new bag – you need to get pouches that contain your vitals – keys, wallet, whatever - so you can just move the pouch across in one go. And do it the night before – last minute handbag panics are too painful when you're knackered and already late enough.'

A Beautiful Mess, Blogger

'One of the easiest hairstyles ever is a combination of twisted maiden braids (just twist and pin!) and a turban styled scarf. To get this look, just tie a knot at the top of your head and then tuck in the ends under the band'.

Olivia Palermo, It Girl

'As you get dressed, take a look to see if anything needs to be done… I tend to look at detailing… If you want to roll your sleeves up and they won’t stay, push them up with very thin hair elastics.'
