It’s the age-old dilemma – what to wear over the outfit you’ve put together without having to resort to a dreary cardigan. You don’t want a full-on coat as you’re going to be indoors, and you still want to see your top. It’s a minefield out there. Here’s some great buys to solve your layering problems, and keep you nice and toasty in the process.

Kimono, £39, Koro Kimono

korakimono

One of our favourite new brands Koro Kimono (a favourite of Cressida Bonas) has a brilliant array of kimonos in various patterns. We love the pattern on this one, and it looks ace with a basic T-shirt and jeans underneath.

Jacket, £55, Topshop

This jacket of dreams is here to answer all of your summer layering woes. The structured fit but lightweight appearence is perfect for wearing to work and at work. Also, bonus points for the colour – camel IS the new black didn’t you know?

Shacket, £25, Boohoo

Since everyone started calling lightweight jackets/heavyweight shirts the ‘shacket’, it’s become an excellent piece that every girl needs in the wardrobe. Wear it over anything and everything, or tie it round your waist when the sun comes out.

Shirt, £30, Urban Outfitters

Plaid shirts are nothing new, but Urban Outfitters have such a great selection from the recycled collection that we couldn’t help but count one in. We love the idea of layering over a black polo, to smarten it up a notch.

Denim kimono, £29.99, H&M

Shacket, £38, Asos

For when a denim jacket is just too much, this lighter version goes with anything and everything.

Jacket, £40, Monki

I still remember buying my favourite wear-every-day bomber from Topshop a few years ago. So I command that you go and buy this right now and you’ll thank yourself every time you go out and need an extra layer.

Wrap shirt, £32, Asos

When crisp white shirt meets blazer, and comes out waaay more good-looking. Would look equally great open with your work getup, or by itself over your favourite denim. Add to basket

Shirt, £30, Urban Outfitters

Oh HELLO 70s denim shirt we’ve been dreaming of. Bonus if your name begins with ‘S’. This denim shirt oozes vintage cool. Throw it on over a plain tee and high-waisted denim to nail that double denim combo.
