Occasionally, the planets align and by mysterious forces outside of our knowledge, one item becomes the most in-demand of the moment. Case in point was this weekend, when seemingly everyone on our Instagram feed was wearing De La Vali's 'Juliette' dress.
First of all, we spotted stylist Harriet Stewart wearing it in the white and red polka dot version; then, a few hours later, an email alerted us to the fact that Millie Mackintosh had chosen it as her hen party dress. Scrolling later on during the Bank Holiday, we saw Chloe Delevingne, the eldest sister of Cara and Poppy, wearing the passionfruit-print version. Before long, we saw Lily Fortescue wearing it too. A bit of digging showed us that former Grazia fashion features editor Hannah Almassi, of Who What Wear, also owns it.
So, who is exactly is behind this new cult dress? The floor-length, tiered gown, cap-sleeved gown, which features a low-neckline and soft ruffles, is the brainchild of Ibizan design duo Jana Sacha Haveman and Laura Castro, better known as De La Vali whose bohemian-inflected brand launched at Browns last year and is already a favourite of Kate Moss (the model liked designer Jana Sacha Haveman's dress so much while on a night out in the White Isle, she gave it to her).
Described as 'one of a kind' on the De La Vali site, the 100% silk dress is dubbed, 'The perfect evening gown it is light and summery and drapes elegantly from the shoulders and skims the waist flattering any figure.' Indeed, it's appeal is clearly great - seen on so many women with different taste in clothes in just one sunny Bank Holiday weekend - and it's also started to sell out in some sizes online, too. It's the perfect summer wedding guest dress outfit, in our humble opinion...
Other celebrity fans who can't get enough of the brand include a roll-call of London 'It' girls, from Sadie Frost to Jamie Winstone, so if you can't get your hands on the Juliette, why not try one of the other styles as chosen by them?
