Ever since we went into lockdown all those months ago, the way we talk about buying things has changed. Now, it’s not about mindlessly following trends or acquiring the latest must-have, but investing in pieces that genuinely ‘spark joy’ and make you feel good. Certainly this is the sentiment at Swarovski, whose latest campaign, #SparkDelight, is about finding joy in small moments that happen every day.
Spearheaded by three women, each a powerhouse in her field - Nadiya Hussain, Candice Brathwaite and Louise Pentland - the campaign video asks about the small, day-to-day moments that, for them, spark joy and delight.
For Brathwaite, author, broadcaster and contributing editor at Grazia, it’s about making time for yourself. ‘For me it's about learning new skills and making time for the newest member of my family! I think it's so important to remember how these small things really do matter, be it spending time doing your make-up, going for a solo run or making time to read a new book. What I love about this campaign is that Swarovski is encouraging everyone to spark delight and find joy and happiness - something we all deserve,’ she posted on Instagram.
Hussain, the celebrity chef who’s become an advocate for living with anxiety after making a documentary with the BBC, says she hopes the campaign will inspire others to think about what makes them happy. ‘I'm so excited to be part of this @swarovski campaign with @candicebrathwaite and @louisepentland because the things we will be sharing I hope will inspire you to savour and enjoy the little moments in your life - whether that's waking up before everyone to catch the sun rise or having dinner with your family with no distractions.’
Pentland, the author and vlogger, has a great list to get you started. ‘These small, day-to-day pleasures can be anything you take delight from, like making a space cosy, crafting, spending time with family, drinking a super fizzy Diet Coke or even as simple as having fresh sheets on your bed. Whatever it is, let’s take the time to celebrate the JOY in these moments!’
