Yet another reason to love ASOS is for their ASOS Africa range. Not only is the SS14 collection (dropping this Friday) a covetable homage to our favourite summer trend – sheer black organza overlays, partnered with digital monochrome prints and authentic African lace with scallop trimming and pastel colours offsetting the sporty knits – but £2 of every product sold goes towards African charity, SOKO.
SOKO, supports female education and development and has recruited 20 tailors to work on the ASOS African project. Next month sees the launch of a Stitching Academy in Kenya, where African students can learn tailoring skills on a six-week course.
Even without the SOKO contribution, this racer-back dress would be a savvy buy. The printed mini (available from Friday), £55 pre-empts a glorious summer, while the black long-layer overlay keeps it a useful transitional piece for when the sun is being shizophrenic and you have to leave home in, like, two seconds flat.
