He's taken on the Force and now he's taking on The Circle.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens* *star, the UK's John Boyega, is set to play the role of Ty in James Ponsoldt’s The Circle, the film adaptation of Dave Eggers 2013 novel of the same name.

Based on college graduate Mae Holland – played by none other than the dazzling Emma Watson – the plot follows Mae as she joins internet company 'The Circle'.

A powerful technological firm, The Circle develops devices (portable cameras) to eradicate privacy, enabling its users (like politicians) to be 'transparent' at all times.

Mae climes the company ladder swiftly and enters into a romance with the company founder, Ty. But as with all technology thrillers, there are a few – ehem – technical hitches. The plot thickens, and... (we won't ruin it).

Also joining Boyega onscreen is Hollywood megastar, Tom Hanks. It's unclear which role Hanks' will take on (Mae's father? Or, if the film follows the book accurately, her other love interest?!) but Hanks' involvement, together with that of Boyega and Watson, sets this film up to be one of 2016's highly anticipated blockbusters.

**Which means that 23-year-old Peckham-born Boyega is about to get even bigger; which is just what we'd expect from this supremely talented rising star.
