You know when you take a super awesome selfiein the mirror and only notice that your super awesome logo t-shirt is inverted so no one could read it, after you posted it online? Isn’t that the MOST embarrassing thing in the whole world? Couldn’t you just die?
No? Erm, well, someone has solved that particular non-problem for you anyway. A Russian designer called Tigran Ayetisyan has just created an ‘Underwear Selfie Set’ which is decorated in an inverted slogan meaning the writing appears the right way round in the mirror – perfect for a full-shot mirror selfie yar? The set which is, confusingly, not actually underwear and more of a tracksuit-material short suit type of affair (we’re selling it aren’t we?) has been designed exclusively for SHOWstudio and reads ‘Us and Them’ in black and white on both the shorts and the top. So as to really hammer the point home, you can also buy and iPhone case with the word ‘censored’ written in reverse on the back.
Apparently, the collection’s slogan was inspired by the role of the fashion industry has in creating division at the same time as bringing them together. Tigran, who graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2012, said: 'I was thinking about the role fashion has in creating division between people whilst at the same time bringing certain groups together'
Selfies. Fashion. Unity…Gotcha.
If you buy into the idea, you can buy the selfie iPhone case for £25 and the hand painted ‘selfie underwear’ for £250.
Which seems rather of lot of money for a problem you can remedy by simply clicking ‘flip vertical’ in iPhoto. Just saying.
