Moschino-esque Italian label Au Jour Le Jour is our favourite new discovery. Think fun, kitsch and unexpectedly chic. It’s also resoundingly non-trend led, which we also enjoy. The possiblities in this alphabet pencil skirt are limitless. You can play games with it when you’re feeling kiddishly sprightly, but you can also wear it to a wedding because the colours are pretty and it’s made of tulle.

It’s expensive, granted, but there are some things worth shelling out on. And a skirt which is going to keep you feeling modern and youthful even when you feel skeggy and jaded, is a winner in our eyes. And we’re (counting the days) until pay day...
