Remember what you orignally thought when everyone said dungarees were coming back? And how much you love them now? Well it’s time to apply the same principle to culottes. Since Alexander Wang and Proenza Schouler put them on the catwalk, the high street has been busying itself stocking up on this year’s most polarising item.

The best we’ve seen are these from Urban Outfitters – mainly because you can wear them from now until the end of the year. Think a cropped T-shirt for sunny days in the park right now; a light knit and some ankle boots come autumn.

They’re basically a cooler, more boyish version of the midi skirt and you know where you are with those.
