Like Réalisation Par and Rouje, Staud is one of those low-key fashion labels with a mighty Instagram following. Courtesy of its It girl fanbase (looking at you Alexa Chung, Leandra Medine, Dakota Fanning and Emily Ratajkowski) it's gone from under-the-radar to on every editor’s wishlist.
But, until now the label, which was founded by Reformation alumni Sarah Staudinger, was only available through its US-based e-store. What a bummer. But, the brains at Net-A-Porter cottoned on to the mass-appeal of it’s vintage-y aesthetic and payday treat-able price point and have made it shoppable in the UK.
It’s a busy month for Staud as this isn’t the only news about the brand that’s come to our attention. The label has collaborated with Solid & Striped on a dreamy line of block colored bikinis, one-pieces and sundresses. Particular highlights include rope-tied bandeaus and sky blue cossies.
Staudinger, who set up the label two years ago with her partner George Augusto, haunts thrift stores and studies photographs YSL model Betty Catroux for inspiration. The brands see-now-buy-now philosophy has helped keep the price point low and the pieces on trend. The look is simple and unfussy, pairing two-tone slip dresses and satin pyjama shirts with macrame bucket bags and barely-there make-up.
Hop over to N-A-P and Solid & Striped now before the rest of the world wakes up to this untapped haul.
