A super famous boutique owner in her home state of California, Elyse Walker opened her ginormous boutique FORWARD by elyse walker in the Pacific Palisades in 1999 - catering to a bevy of Hollywood laydeez like Kate Beckinsale and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley - before the definitive upscale store segued into a hugely successful online platform.

The sassy girl's net-a-porter - Elyse describes it as 'luxury with an edge' - it's not cheap, but it is lush. Let's just say that we're re-negotiating our rent, whilst browsing the site. From Comme Des Garcons primary coloured purses to Rodarte's 'Radarte' sweater, to Elyse's own espadrille line elysewalker los angeles, it's not all super expensive and at times, reminiscient of Opening Ceremony. Albeit a slightly slicker LA one.

What you're really looking for right now, pal, are some 'late summer' garms that are going to take you into Autumn until it gets bonafide brrrrr and you need to resort to the duvet coat and bobble hat. So here are our top picks.

The party-ready t-shirt dress

Day, night and from infinity to beyond. T-shirt dresses are having a renaissance - thanks to Saint Laurent and Alexa whose been seen recently in their glittery silver t-shirt mini - with this one working as well with slides now as it will biker boots and leather in a few months.

The effortlessly cool striped shirt

Yeah, we know we said effortless dressing is a bunch of BS, but this shirt really is the coolest button-down we've seen in ages. Only Isabel Marant could make grey look badass - wear with leather trousers and some red Superga, or some denim/broderie anglaise shorts now.

The patch jeans

The nineties are back. Did you hear? Lol. Nobutsrsly, there are twists and turns to the epoch and luxury denim brand MiH have released some patch jeans in a brand new colourway. The least OTT way to buy into patched jeans.

Phoebe Slim in Nineties Patch, ££158.78 MiH

The tartan sweater

The tartan sweater is going to be big this Autumn. We've already featured a mohair one by Sandro, there's a pretty good guy over at ASOS and how about THIS for a zinger? It's Equipment, of course - the French brand only happens to kick bubble butt at shirts, sweaters and the like.

Shane Scholarly Plaid Wool Sweater, £160.57

The new cut of floral midi skirt

We got really excited when we saw that Band of Outsiders had launched a particularly fun e-comms site. Until we realised it only shipped within the US. Bah. This cherry blossom skirt should be cutesy and Cath Kidston-ish, but the cut makes it kinda grungey and sexy. It's not cheap, but it's turned us back onto florals in one fell swoop and it's enduringly trends-less.

Cherry Blossom Drape Skirt, £314.56 Band of Outsiders

The non-poolside espadrilles

Provided it's not raining, there's no reason why you need to hang these back in your closet at the end of September. Enhoy!

Calf Hair Espadrilles in Leopard, £165.97 elysewalker los angeles
