Sarah Jessica Parker made a colourful exit from a New York City apartment last night and for one short, joyful moment we thought that the notorious third installment of the Sex and The City movie franchise might finally have been green lit.
Alas, this was just another day in the life of SJP. Pictured en route to the New york City Ballet Gala, the award-winning actress wore a voluminous, corseted fuschia gown by fashion designer Zac Posen (the man responsible for Princess Eugenie's second wedding look). And with one swish of hot pink taffeta we were immediately transported back in time to season 6 of the hugely popular show, specifically to that Oscar de la Renta dress Carrie famously wore (you know, the one gifted to her by Aleksandr Petrovsky for their imminent opera date).
And this wasn't the only blatant reference to Carrie's eclectic wardrobe (the brainchild of stylist and costume designer Patricia Field). In episode 13 of season 3, Carrie wears a pair mismatched Christian Louboutin heels - one blue and the other pink - for no particular reason. Look carefully and you'll see that SJP's sporting an embellished slingback on one foot and a lime green satin sandal on the other. We can't guarantee this is a trend that's going to take off, but it's exactly the kind of style conundrum we wanted to dissect on a Friday morning.
Long live Carrie, and her deliciously inexplicable wardrobe choices.
