You Have To See This New WAH LONDON X ASOS Collab

When Sharmadean Reid does something, we sit up and listen. When the WAH LONDON nail entrepreneur, who received an MBE last year, isn’t busy judging the Asos Fashion Discovery competition with Julia Sarr-Jamois and Andrew Davis, she’ll be busy nailing (scuse the) new collaborations and making waves for young women in business.

And today is no different - the 30-year old has launched her WAH London X ASOS collaboration and it is f****** excellent. Inspired by Princess Diana (Di was really fly, according to Reid) it has a super old school Kings Road, Sloaney Pony aesthetic mixed with Reid’s own urban East London edge. We want it all.

For the sloaney 80s Kings Road part there’s tartan, pearls and cashmere, while the East London influence comes in the form of slogans (one jumper has Royal on the front and Loyal on the reverse), caps and blinged up pearls.

Princess Di was known for her fun and adventurous approach to fashion, often sporting halter necks and Versace dresses where no other Royal would have dared, in a way that helped cement her as a very special British style icon - as well as challenging the status quo and the sartorial limitations of being married to a prince.

And now we’ve seen the collaboration we only have a couple of questions. Like, does this mean that we can expect to see pearls on the streets of Dalston soon? And will WAH’s next step be to make an independent fashion line? Because we’d pay good money for both these things to happen…
