Swedish pop duo Say Lou Lou aren’t just blessed with great hair, sky-high cheekbones and musical talent by the bucket-load. Identical twins Elektra and Miranda Kilbey also have an enviable sense of style, navigating between high-octane, Studio 54-esque glamour and a more pared-down, typically Scandi aesthetic with ease. They released their debut album, Lucid Dreaming, last spring (aptly described by the duo as ‘disco noir’), but have been turning heads in the fashion industry for far longer, appearing in Vogue shoots and on the cover of V magazine, and being chosen as the faces of Gucci and H&M.

When it comes to getting dressed, though, the girls don’t take themselves too seriously. Speaking to lifestyle and e-commerce platform Semaine, Miranda said, ‘I think fashion is fun. I think clothes are fun in the same way I think art is fun, and music videos are fun […] They’re all big parts of building who you want to be and what you are and what you want to say. I mean, look at David Bowie, for instance.’

‘I think sometimes people [in fashion] can mix up their own world with the music world, and in the music world, you’re an artist – not something purely mouldable,’ said Elektra. ‘I think if you’re an artist, you come in and you just already have baggage: who you are, what you want to say.’
