Welcome to the second installment of our brand spanking new franchise, SS2SFI. Catchy, huh? Maybe not. But these stylish tips to steal from instagram sure are.

Forget the statement coat; we're feeling the statement hoodie

All we wanted after the H&M AW14 show was an orange poloneck; sadly, we haven't found one yet, but we have found Janka Polliani sporting an oversized clementine hoodie. Why is it so excellent? Because she's paired it with an otherwise slick and smart monochrome look, rather than the usual pair of jeans. Hi/lo dressing at it's finest.

Pink can be street

Unexpected news: bubblegum pink can work when it's, er, Moncler and Chanel. So far, so haute. But the premise remains the same even if you're in high street: pair saccharine pink pieces with distressed baggy jeans, an understated oatmeal polo neck and a slick pony like supermodel Caroline Brasch-Nielsen to 'de-pink' the pinkness.

Dress-down the all-white trend

We've seen lots of 'smart casual' winter whites, but then Reformation designer Brianna Lance showed us that a full white-out can be super casual too. Just opt for some ripped jeans and a cropped white sweater. (That little bit of lace will add a sweet edge, too.)

Yet another way you can ape Clueless

******Let us count the ways we are Cher Horowitz. One thing we haven't bothered with since we pretended we were Alexa at Glasto in 2011 though, is OTK marl socks. But then Lucky magazine's Editor-In-Chief Eva Chen shared a picture of her front row in some tractor-tread sandals and grey socks - and we suddenly realised this could be our new flash-o-thigh springtime styling tip.

Wear your coat on just one arm

This whole 'shoating' thing is very bothersome when you want to raise your arms (coat falls straight off.) So how about this new skewiff styling, channelled by TV presenter Laura Jackson: wear your jacket on one arm. It won't fall out. And it plays funky mind games.
