Because the most popular suit of Autumn is set to be MiH’s midnight-blue velvet suit, comprised of one part single breasted blazer and one part cropped trouser (and seen in all the glossies and supplements of the last week.) It reminds us of one our dad used to have, pre our existence, that we have been searching for in the attic ever since we found out about it.
MiH’s ROME Jacket is now available to buy for a tidy (but totally justifiable) sum but the trousers aren’t in stock yet – however, don’t despair as velvet doesn’t have to come with a whopping price tag. There are some good bits at bohemian mecca (and velvet is boho – it’s as boho as it is old school aristo) Free People and vintage is always a good bet – try eBay and ASOS Marketplace. H&M are also worth keeping an eye on – they frequently produce velvet blazers that look they could be made by velvet-loving designer label Theyskens’ Theory.
