There’s a pretty straightforward way to crack this whole boyfriend dressing business without only swiping right on guys whose outfits you like the look of: buy guys’ clothes, duh.
But the trickier part can be styling them just so, to nail that nonchalant give-a-shit-about-boundaries sexiness that Catherine de Maigret’s got sussed in blazers and slacks, rather than looking like you slept at your boyfriend’s house and forgot to pack a change of clothes.
So take heed from these tips...
Body-con denim says feminine and considered without ruining a baggy boyfriend T-shirt’s casual vibes
Breaking Bad Lod Pollos Hermanos T-shirt, £28, Urban Outfitters; Denim skirt, £60, Levi’s; Reebok Classic leather runner in pink, £30, Urban Outfitters
Throw chunky mens’ knitwear over a simple dress for the easiest, most cosy way to do laid-back layering
Knitted jumper, £24.99, H&M; Visit Grey Melange Dress, £190, ACNE Studios; studded trainers, £95, Sam Edelman** **
Slim suit trousers become the best slouchy slacks on a girl. Wear with a crop-top for a look that’s as far from the city as you can get
Wool-blend suit trousers, £34.99, H&M; skinny-rib cropped T-shirt, £8, Topshop; Superstar trainers, £62, Adidas
Feeling inspired? Here's how else you can buy into the trend:
Grey slim trousers, £35, River Island; striped bomber, £59.50, Jack Wills @ ASOS; waffle jumper, £38, Topman; black acid-wash denim pencil skirt, £28, River Island; New Love Club tropical T-shirt, £25, Topshop.
