With a handle like Badgalriri, one would hardly expect Rihanna to be a diligent student. However, she spent yesterday amongst the books of the prestigious Parisian Richelieu-Louvois Library. Rather than swatting up on the Dewey Decimal System, she presented her autumn winter 17 Puma X Fenty collection.
Breaking with preppy codes of yore, RiRi rewrote the collegiate style handbook. For starters, she served her guests with ‘detention card’ invitations and a show that riffed on high school cliques. The likes of Future, Sita Abellan, Salma Hayek and Cara Delevingne watched collegiate sorority girls in ‘FS’ letterman jumpers, jocks in thigh-high boxing boots, Punks, Goths, Skaters and swots stomp over a catwalk of desks. A topless Slick Woods opened the show in a floor-length plaid down jacket – not dissimilar to Rihanna’s own from Vetements – to the sonic beats of Radiohead’s Creep. And, it ended with rapturous applause. Check out every single women’s wear look from the collection below.
