We loved the show of sisterly solidarity between the Big Little Lies cast. Now Reese Witherspoon has a new red carpet BFF. She and Jennifer Aniston, co-stars on Apple TV+’s The Morning Show and once-time sisters in two unforgettable episodes of Friends, have been on the promo trail this week. If there’s one takeaway, it’s this - wearing head-to-toe black is back.

At the world premiere in New York on Monday, both stars dressed to match the coal-coloured carpet. Reese chose sequinned and streamlined Celine, while Jennifer wore a minimalist column gown by James Galanos. Tuesday saw the duo twinning at The Paley Center for Media in head-to-toe black. Jennifer then rounded off the day’s festivities with a trip to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. She chose a strapless, you guessed it, black dress and barely-there sandals.

Head-to-toe black has always been a thing among fashion editors, but the outfits at the latest round of shows seem to be even more crow-like. The influencer Ece Sukan wore black leather and black-out shades during the Paris leg of shows and even Susie Lau, whose outfits often resemble rainbows, chose a black jacket and black Mary-Janes for H&M’s show in Rome last week.

Start with a black dress and equally dark opaques, or leather trousers and a black polo neck. You’ll feel ‘fashion’ in no time.
