A new adaptation of Daphne du Maurier'sRebeccahas just landed on Netflix and, given the fact that it stars Lily James, Armie Hammer and Kristin Scott Thomas, it's getting a lot of attention. One thing we can tell you, without accidentally dropping any spoilers, is that it is lovely to look at – particularly the costumes. Inspired by the work of Julian Day, the film's costume designer, the collection has been produced by a team of creatives in the UK, including fashion editors and celebrity stylists. There's both men's and womenswear, featuring the traditional fabrics, styled and silhouettes of the 1930s (when Rebecca is set) with a modern flourish.
The women's collection includes a mix of the soft tailoring and glamorous eveningwear that features in the film and there is even a direct match for one of the best pieces – the checked tea dress worn by Lily James, complete with its very on-trend oversized collar. There's also a hoodie emblazoned with the famous first line ofRebecca,yours for £85.
Most importantly, the collection has been produced in aid of Choose Love, a charity dedicated to to the vital work required to help refugees. This means that 100% of profits will be given to the organisation to go towards Choose Love's pioneering work in humanitarian aid, which has helped those in need of food, shelter and care in some of the most affected countries in the world.
