Emilio Pucci has not had a full-time CEO since April 2014, but all that is about to change...

Come the autumn, Mauro Grimaldi – current Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Communications at Elie Saab – will take on the coveted role. He joins newly appointed Creative Director Massimo Giorgetti (founder of MSGM), who came aboard the Florentine brand in March earlier this year.

Giorgetti has already created a buzz at the fashion house, through his Pre-Spring/Summer 2016 Collection. An altogether quirky assortment, which includes oversized skirts and prints of 'comic' Florentine tourists wielding selfie sticks, Giorgetti eschewed the title 'resort' and named it instead, his 'pilot collection'; the first 'episode' where, he said, 'you see this world, these characters, for the first time'.

Whilst incorporating colour palettes and prints taken from Pucci's archive, the collection was modern, and signified a dramatic departure from the brand's predecessor, Peter Dundas, whose designs largely centred on all things racy, sexy and short.

Mauro Grimaldi, who previously worked for Valentino and Salvatore Ferragamo, will join Pucci and Giorgetti this September. He will take over from Laudomia Pucci (the founder's daughter) who has acted as CEO since the departure of Alessandra Carra (for Agnona) last spring.

With its new staff in place, there are high expectations for the print-loving label. So it's all eyes on Pucci come Milan Fashion Week, a little later on this year.
