A scroll through an influencer’s social feed and you’d assume their life is all avocado toasts and luxurious getaways. But, beneath the filters, there is a different story to be told. To rack up those 100K followers takes a lot more than their effortless feed’s let on. As Jayde Pierce, Lissy Roddy, CC Clarke and Shirley's Wardrobecollaboration with Public Desire drops today, we thought we’d see what does it really takes to walk in an influence’s shoes. And, let me tell you, it’s no walk in the park. These girls are ON at all times, stomping from meeting-to-meeting in skyscraper shoes that normal beings like team Debrief barely managed a few hours in…

CC Clarke Fever Gold Star Platform Heels in Black Faux Suede, £29.99, Public Desire
**Describe your shoes…**Sizzlin’ Seventies, swoon-worthy. I’m really into them.
**How do they feel on…They make me feel FAN-TASTIC, darling. I am firing emails and ticking things off my to-do list quicker than my sprint home when I realise it’s 8:48pm and Love Islands on the telly. I have more #purpose than Justin Bieber’s world tour and feel like a proper bizzniss laydee. I am accomplishing so many things in these shoes, I’m actually scared of what I could achieve next. A cure for world hunger? A potion that will make any guy fall in love with me? 10/10 contentment with life? Anything is possible.
**How are they to walk in…**I have to walk reaaaally slowly, otherwise, I have a ‘Bambi on ice’ sitch happening.
Can you climb stairs? Again. SLOWLY. Not ideal for running for a tube, so if you’re gonna be a lady of height - snoozing your alarm is out of the question.
Can you balance on one leg? Yes, but I did do hot yoga this morning, so I am feeling super limber.
**Text a picture of your shoes to your best friend, what was their first reaction? **I texted my sister, she’s more of a Nike Airmax kinda girl.

How did they fair throughout the day? They’re comfier than they look, which is saying A LOT coming from me. I haven’t worn heels since my University summer ball as I am a baby when it comes to high shoes. Though, as 3 pm approached, I began wishing I had brought my flats with me…
How many blisters do you have? Zero.
What did it feel like to walk in the shoes of an influencer for a day? It felt good, and my work colleagues were really into them. I was suddenly 6ft tall and my work pal Emma said ‘this is the height you were born to be’ which is nice, isn’t it! I can also have a great rummage through the stationary cupboard, which was harder at my usual 5ft 6.

Jayde Pierce Unify Lace Up Peeptoe Ankle Boots in Silver Croc, £39.99, Public Desire
**How do they feel on…**Comfortable. They made me feel quite powerful, and I like the lace up detailing up the side
**How are they to walk in…**They do have a lot of height on them, so it was a bit precarious. I wouldn’t recommend them for daily wear or the tube commute unless you’re a pro.
Can you climb stairs? At a snail’s pace, but I can reach things which are high up
Can you balance on one leg? For two seconds, very unsteadily.
**Text a picture of your shoes to your best friend, what was their first reaction? **

How did they fair throughout the day? The ankles did start to ache a bit on hour three, not gonna lie.
How many blisters do you have? I had two blisters already and it didn’t hurt them or give me any more (yay).
What did it feel like to walk in the shoes of an influencer for a day? Sassy as hell.

*Lissy Roddy Heated Pointed Lace Up Ridged Heel Mules in White, £34.99, Public Desire *
**Describe your shoes…**They are high heeled pointed mules with lace-up ribbony bits. The heels remind me of sturdy furniture legs.
**How do they feel on…**They don’t feel too uncomfortable (it helps that I sit down for most of the day) but I feel like the balls of my feet are hurting a bit. If I knew how to keep them up, I feel like the ribbon would look very cool with a certain kind of outfit.
**How are they to walk in…**I am THE worst at walking in heels – I think the mule style makes it harder as they don’t feel very secure on my feet.
Can you climb stairs? It’s bit of a challenge but the chunky heel makes it a bit easier. However, going down stairs was a different story, they felt like they were going to slide right off!
Can you balance on one leg? Yes!

How did they fair throughout the day? TBH, not too badly, I feel like I couldn’t wear these on my commute but as an office shoes they could work, if you are used to wearing heels all day.
How many blisters do you have? No blisters but my feet feel a bit sore.
What did it feel like to walk in the shoes of an influencer for a day? I feel like people noticed me more, as I normally wear flats, but that could also have been because I look like Bambi trying to walk in them!

Shirley's Wardrobe Reef Pearl Barely There Heels in Blush Pink Faux Suede, £29.99, Public Desire
**Describe your shoes…**Pretty, pastel and pearl(y). These shoes are pretty easy on the eyes, but that heel gave me nightmares.
**How do they feel on…**They feel good…when sitting down. Let’s get one thing straight, I’m not an heel-wearing influencer, so the thought of standing up scared me.
**How are they to walk in…**Liiiike I was about to tumble down and break my ankle, for the first five of so minutes. Then I actually got the hang of things and felt like the red dancing girl emoji sassing my way along.
Can you climb stairs? Lol…no. Sorry, I didn’t dare.
Can you balance on one leg? For about three seconds.
Text a picture of your shoes to your best friend, what was their first reaction?

Riiiiight.
How did they fair throughout the day? I’m going to be completely honest with you, I cheated. I cheated big time. I put them on for roughly 37 minutes and sat down for most of those 37 minutes. Look, I’m sorry. I’m a spoilsport, but me + heels do not bode well. I like comfort and live in trainers.
How many blisters do you have? Actually none, these were comfortable even though I couldn’t walk.
What did it feel like to walk in the shoes of an influencer for a day?* *For 37 minutes. For that time period I felt pretty great, like I’d transported myself back to my years at sixth form where I’d go out on a Thursday night in jeans, big heels and a going out top. I strutted, I tumbled, I felt 18 again. I’d also like to give a special shout out for all the amazing influencers who can actually wear these for a whole day. Gold medals for you all.
