With competition from the likes of Princess Margaret, Princess Diana, Kate Middleton and now Meghan Markle (and of course Prince George), Princess Anne has never really been considered as one of the more fashionable members of the royal family. Until now that is.
During an appearance at the Chelsea Flower Show, the 67-year-old rocked a pair of athletic-inspired sunglasses, in contrast to the Jackie-O style we’re used to seeing members of the royal family wear. The sporty Adidas pair were bang on trend, being from the same ilk as recent pairs on the runway at Stella McCartney and the Fenty x Puma.
With their red polarised lenses, the style is one usually worn by sportsman keen to protect their eyes while on the athletics track or elsewhere, and as Anne is known to be a keen equestrian, it could just be that she owns them for similar reasons. Whatever the thought process behind the purchase though, there’s no denying she’s ahead of the curve. After all, anything is better than the tiny Matrix-esque sunnies Bella Hadid, Kim Kardashian et all have been wearing of late…
