Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi, the British design duo behind fashion brand Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, are to be honoured in their native Isle of Man with a set of very stylish stamps.

The special edition stamp set of six will go on sale during London Fashion Week next month to celebrate 20 years in the industry. Since they begun their eponymous brand they’ve seen it grow from humble beginnings to one of the most cutting edge in Britain, selling in five continents around the world.

Each of the stamps will feature an iconic dress from the designer’s back catalogue. A particularly eye-catching one is the red dress worn by Kate Middleton in Canada during the 2016 royal tour, while another shows the the so-called ‘Citrus Power Dress’, a yellow mini bodycon dress with keyhole cut-out worn by Amy Winehouse and Gwyneth Paltrow.

‘The Isle of Man is a unique place,’ said Justin Thorton of his birth place. ‘It has inspired us throughout our career, it is in our heart and our soul. We draw on the colours, and the raw beauty of the Island, the diversity of the landscape and memories from our childhood have been a great inspiration.’

Maxine Cannon, General Manager of Isle of Man Stamps & Coins, said: ‘We are delighted to be working with Justin and Thea who personify the greatness that the Isle of Man can achieve. We are so lucky to have a rich heritage of talent and skill that has been home-grown on Isle of Man soil and then flourished further afield with the links to the Island never lost.’

The stamps go on sale on 1 February and will cost between £1 and £1.86.
