Pink. It's one of those colours you secretly love, but forever associate with being four. Or that infantilizing lingerie set your boyfriend bought that you hated.
All perfectly understandable. The negative gender politics-slash-paedo associations of baby pink seem hardwired into our brains. But there is a mood-enhancing and fashion-kudos-giving reason to change your mindset on pink and it is evidenced right here with these editors at New York Fashion Week all looking adorable in a shade not dissimilar to that old tutu your mum kept.

Why? Well, if you didn’t get the memo last September that pink was a fashion thing – it was, thanks to labels like Carven and Mulberry – the fact that these ladies are still wearing it a full four months later (an aeon in fashion terms) means it’s not going anywhere.

In a strange move by the fashion industry, which generally likes to keep us buying clothes by changing trends at breakneck speed, pink is even more popular for this spring and summer.
The only difference is that this winter it was all about having a pink coat. For spring, though, it is entirely possible to have pink everything. But don’t; one or two pieces will suffice – you are not Elle from Legally Blonde. We especially like the freshness of pink paired with white and when you throw it into the mix of a dressed-down sweatshirt/ripped denim look it really works, too.
