The red carpet - with all its gowns and air kisses - has suffered somewhat in 2020. As events went virtual, and stars erected their own step-and-repeat backdrops in the living room or appeared as holograms via video call, the award ceremony as we knew it looked like it was over. In a happy turn of events, however, it seems like it might be rallying yet. The People's Choice Awards 2020 had an actual host (Demi Lovato) and celebrities accepting their awards IRL.
Jameela Jamil wore designer-of-the-moment Christopher John Rogers, posting a video explaining exactly how she got dressed (clue: it involved entering her car in a state of déshabillé). Tracee Ellis Ross, meanwhile, wore the most glorious white shirt dress + leather harness (well, she did win the Fashion Icon Award).
