Unless you've been in a state of Netflix denial, you may have noticed Orange is the New Black is kind of a big deal right now. Cue the jumpsuit trend: a flip-reverse of art reflecting life. But fear not, the donning of a jumpsuit is not a fashion crime - if anything, you should be applauded for the brave style choice.

Jumpsuits, for all their style kudos, can be dangerous - and we're not just talking the perils of trying to squirm out of your all-in-one number when you've left it to the last minute to run to the loo. Here's a run down of how to jump (sorry, sorry, sorry) gracefully across the minefield that is styling a jumpsuit.

This jumpsuit is a total dream because it looks great whether you're short or tall - and as everyone under 5 5" knows, finding a jumpsuit for a short person is basically the holy grail. Printed Jumpsuit, £50, ASOS

Daytime

I love mixing colours but a monochrome outfit really looks sleeker and classier when you stick to black and white. In my laid back outfit (the one with the boots), I just added a pair of bright green sunnies, to add more fun and make the jumpsuit more playful. I love looking a bit crazy, it's all in the details though, so a pair of sunglasses can quickly add more character into an outfit. I finished off with a pair of boots and a leather backpack to tone this classy jumpsuit down. Perfect for a busy day running around town and when comes the evening, you just need to throw a blazer on and a pair of pointy flats.

Nighttime

For an evening outfit, I threw a blazer on the jumpsuit and added a pair of heeled sandals (old Zara). Sleeveless blazers are also a shortcut to class and glam, I love the elongated silhouette they give. Paired with a pair of heels, the elongated effect is even more dramatic, and I love playing with my body shape. Then I added a cute metallic clutch to clash with the texture of the jumpsuit, and finished off with a bit of fun with this pair of Miu Miu sunglasses

Worktime

For a work outfit, I added an old monochrome ASOS Africa woven top, to clash and contrast with the pattern of the jumpsuit and to cover any potential side-boob display. I'm usually not so keen on white shoes but this River Island pair changed my mind. They inject so much class in your outfit, whether you're wearing boyfriend jeans or a pencil skirt. They're really graceful, and I love the vintage feel they have. I love how the top paired with the shoes add this 60s feel to the outfit, so I added this Calvin Klein boxy cross-body bag to keep the shapes classic and finished off with a pair of cat-eye sunglasses.
