Seriously.

Fashion week (sorry month) has just kicked off and the first stop is New York. If we’re totally honest, we could give-or-take most of the packed schedule of shows and presentations. Why? Our magpie-eyes can barely be torn away from the bloggers, editors, models and influencers who are treating the streets like their very own catwalks. The calibre this season is seriously raising the bar, and piquing our interest at that. From twists on layering to innovative accessorizing, we've already spotted five majorly inspiring outfits that you need to take notice of.

1. Coloured Tights In 2018

Channel Frozen and hit the big freeze with an ice blue palette, like Alisha Bansal. From her pointed toes to her Saks Potts coat and on-trend coloured hosiery, this outift is a lesson in making a statement item work. Rather than faffing around with layers and upteen items, she's taken one bright, bold piece and made it the gravitational centre of her sartorial universe.

2. Making The 80s Respectable

It's quite daunting to think that the ostentatious fashion of the 1980s is staging a comeback. Yet, when Liya Kebede tries the trend our fear slips away. For she's made a waist cinching belt and a boxy, shoulder-padded blazer look natural and low-key. How? Her boxfresh hoodie is the great palette cleanser the '80s missed out on. It makes these items look contemporary and cool without breaking the bank.

3. Dad Trainers

Like the lovechild of normcore and athleisure trends, the so-called 'dad' sneaker is recognisable by its natty appearance with thick greying soles and clunky, misshapen features. It's like the Frankenstein of footwear - a jigsaw puzzle of trainer elements sewn in a fascinatingly ugly, and yet mesmerising fashion. Bella Hadid is a BIG fan, and so is Leomie Anderson who packed hers for NYFW.

4. Awkward Colour Combinations

Emili Sindlev's colour palette toes the line between it's so bad, it's good. Peach and turquoise - ew. Peach, turquoise and cream - gross. Or is it? Like a boiled sweet, or the sky and sundown, it's these kind of jarring shades that make an outfit pop.

5. White Heels For The Win

If fashion week is a marathon, Kendall Jenner is already in the lead with her take on adidas' athleisure tracksuit. Though her tracky is seriously appealing we're actually stanning for her footwear situation. A quick finger-pinching zoom reveals she's wearing white mules and low-denier tights. An odd combo on paper, but a winner in reality.
