Be honest: are you a cliché when it comes to resolutions? If you're thinking of taking a break from bubbles - or renewing your gym membership - I think you already know the answer. Another cliché, of course, is committing to a wardrobe clear-out, whether you're donating presents that aren't really 'you' or signing up to a rental platform to get more bang for your buck from clothes you only wear occasionally. So since it's almost the New Year, why not make a style resolution? Whether it's something serious (shop second-hand instead of new) or silly (be more minimalist!), Grazia's Fashion Team has picked theirs to give you some ideas about how to mix it up in 2023. Happy New Year!

Dune, Animal Print Mules
Julia Harvey, shopping editor: 'My style resolution is to break away from my go-to uniform of an oversized shirt and jeans, to be a little more experimental and wear those things that have been staring at me from my wardrobe for far too long. This won't mean straying away from my go-to colour (black) but it will mean having more fun with clothes. I love to find one-off pieces, so, aside from the high-street which is great for those staple pieces, I will be hitting eBay, vintage clothing sites and charity shops to find some gems.'
Jimmy Fairly, The Lou
'I've also been in need of finding a pair of glasses (as I now need to invest in some specs) which I have found to be quite the decision. I love Jimmy Fairly and Bloobloom, both of which have some great frames that I'll be trying on come January.'
Baukjen, Ovia Over Coat
Natalie Hammond: fashion news and features editor: 'My style goal is to look smarter. I usually run around in trainers, combats and puffer jackets, but want to pare things back with a single-breasted coat, bought a size up, dark indigo jeans and black leather brogues. Am I turning into a minimalist?!'
Bobbies, The Joan
'I'm planning to wear these with sheer tights and minis during party season - and will switch to ribbed tennis socks and wide-leg jeans next year.'
Taller Marmo, Ubud Feather One Shoulder
Harriet Davey, freelance fashion editor, stylist and writer: 'I want to rent outfits so I get to try out designers and not buy as many clothes. I've been eyeing up Taller Marmo dresses on Instagram all year, so for 2023, I finally want to see one in the flesh. This feather-adorned mini is about as extra as a dress can get, but as someone who likes to dress up, I'm all for going OTT no matter the time of year.'
MadSeventies, Cities In The Dust Blazer
Gavi Weiss, fashion assistant: 'It’s so easy to default to big name brands when I’m looking for a wardrobe refresh. This year I want to support more small businesses in the UK. MadSeventies is one of my favourite London brands, repurposing vintage blazers with a western twist!'
& Daughter, Winter Market Alva Striped Boatneck
Jane McFarland: associate editor: 'My resolution is to banish black from my wardrobe and introduce more colour - I refuse to use the term dopamine dressing, but one needs to be buoyed in January and I can’t resist the feel-good vibe of & Daughter’s multicoloured knitwear.'
Hannah Banks-Walker
Hannah Banks-Walker: head of fashion commerce: 'My New Year style resolution is to 'shop' my own wardrobe. As ridiculous as that sounds, I want to try and rediscover my clothes and stop relying on the same few pieces every day. It feels quite difficult in the winter months to bother to invent outfits or play with what I'm wearing - the temptation is just to wrap my entire body in a blanket and be done with it - but I'm going to try and make the effort to do just that.'
Guest In Residence, Cabin Cardigan
Susie Lethbridge, freelance fashion assistant: 'One of my resolutions for 2023 is to buy less fast-paced trend pieces and invest in more long-term staples; quality over quantity. Services like The Restory are on hand to support this; bringing old and dated clothing back to life with moth hole-fixing, debobbling and reheeling services – all available in a second! If I do buy something, it'll be staples like this cashmere cardigan from Guest in Residence, which is good quality enough to last and isn't too trendy so can be worn year after year.'
