Industry insiders and practised high-street shoppers alike wait with bated breath each season for the Uniqlo U collection to drop. The brainchild of Artistic Director Christophe Lemaire, the pieces are everything you'd expect from the much loved, minimalist brand, but with a slightly more sophisticated, considered feel.
You'll find all your wardrobe staples for the coming, cooler months (alongside menswear and accessories). For work, there are midi dresses in shades of green, berry and chestnut brown that’ll look great with this season’s knee-high boots. The A-line skirts in various lengths and muted tones, as well as the wide-leg tailored trousers, can easily be teamed with the shirts and shirred blouses for a chic, understated office look.
Most exciting is the outerwear. There’s a coat for all occasions: a flattering belted Chesterfield that cinches the waist; padded parka styles that the brand have become known for, which are perfect for frosty weekend walks. And we love the BLOCHTECH (a soft 'waterproof, windproof and breathable' fabric) checked mac, which we’ll be wearing on repeat with high waisted jeans and trainers.
As usual there’s plenty in the way of knitwear. Oversized cardis for the Katie Holmes fans (sadly nomatching bra, although it’s perhaps a tad nippy for all that now), slouchy V-neck sweaters and an extra fine merino wool number that is perfect for layering.
