London Fashion Week may seem like an exclusive affair, but this February Mulberry is flinging open the veritable doors to the public. That’s right, you don’t have to work for a swish atelier or have a professional Instagram boyfriend to take part. All you need to do is find yourself at Spencer House this weekend to take part in the action.
Over the course of the weekend of the 17th and 18th of February, the British fashion house will be democratising the stuffy LFW schedule by setting up camp in the grand St. James' mansion house to host workshops, presentations, tours and tea. And, everyone’s welcome!
The schedule is jam-packed. Mulberry’s Creative Director Johnny Coca plans to unveil his vision of Spring Summer 2018 fashion to an intimate audience. There’s an interactive exploration of the making of a Mulberry bag, gin tasting, tours of the prestigious property and styling duo Brit and Kara Elkin (who are responsible for Dakota Johnson, Brie and Emma Roberts’ sartorial prowess) will be demonstration how to wear Mulberry’s new collection. While some events won't require booking, it's recommended to get a ticket where you can so not to miss out on this one-off moment.
What is fashion without shopping? Understanding the universal appeal of style, Mulberry will continue using the see-now-buy-now model for this forthcoming collection, which means that you won't have to wait to shop the SS18 look.
‘I have always been fascinated by the history and beauty of English houses. Spencer House is an architectural gem in the heart of London, and the perfect family home to share this new collection.’ explains Coca, ‘Respecting heritage is not only about looking into the past but also about building the future.'
Mulberry's 'Beyond Heritage' event will be taking place between 10am and 5pm on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th of February at Spencer House.
