Portia Freeman has modelled for Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana and Marc Jacobs, along with many other mega brands in her incredible 10-year career. But what we love about her is her off the catwalk looks – it’s rare to find anyone who looks just as good in a pair of skinny jeans and a T-shirt as she does in a floral T-dress, and we’re pretty much girl-crushing on her 24/7.

We asked her to de-construct her style for us, to give us a chance in hell at looking just a smidgen as cool.

‘I always love my accessories to pop with my outfits and it’s usually my bags that have that role. I love my Lulu Guinness lip clutch, for example, because it always makes my outfit a little more fun,’ says Portia. Check out how she rocked the lip bag in September at LFW, with a chunky knit from Pringle of Scotland.

‘I definitely take inspiration from all catwalk shows not just one in in particular,’ says Portia. ‘I love Acne Studios, Emilia Wickstead, Chanel, Fendi, Mary Katrantzou, Michael Kors… Big fan of Céline, too. The list could go on and on...’

So we’re just a little bit jealous of her shoe collection. ‘I couldn’t live without my selection of boots. I love a good boot with anything,’ she says. Not sure we could live without those either.

Portia told us that no outfit is complete without a good leather jacket or sheepskin coat from Acne, but we think she might also have a bit of a handbag vice. Respect.

‘If I’m going to a big event it can take a few weeks to find the perfect outfit. Other times it can be super quick. If I have a meeting, I’ll usually like to plan the night before what I’m going to wear,’ Portia explains. ‘I'm dying to wear this dress from Self Portrait at the moment.’

‘I love everything Florence Welch wears, she always makes the perfect statement, and I’m also a big fan of Audrey Hepburn’s style – she always looked amazing both on and off screen.’

‘I have lots of friends around me whose style inspires me. Daisy Lowe for example, we’ll always speak before an event we’re both attending and see what the other is wearing. She has the dreamiest collection of clothes that any girl would die for.’
