Choupette, Karl Lagerfeld's cat, has been confirmed as 'one of the richest members of the fashion industry', with annual earnings matching Cara Delevingne’s.
As well as calling her a ‘kind of Greta Garbo,’ and providing the creative director of Chanel with endless style inspo Karl’s cat really is bringing home the Benjamins.. to the tune of a cool £2million.
The Siamese cat earned a fraction less than Cara, who worked tirelessly during 2014 for her rumoured £2.4m, by doing just two advertising jobs - one for Japanese make-up brand Shu Uemura and the other for a Vauxhall Corsa calendar raking in a hefty £2,172,625.
The adorable blue-eyed kitty - who has two of her own maids and an Instagram and Twitter account as well as regular beauty treatments -is currently the cover star of American Fashion magazine Lucky.
‘I don’t allow her to do foodstuffs and things like this. She’s too sophisticated for that,’ Lagerfeld told* The Cut*. ‘She is like a human being, but the good thing is that she’s silent. You don’t have to discuss it. 'She hates other animals and she hates children. She stays always with me and she has two personal maids. They play with her, they have to take care of her beautiful white hair, the beauty treatments for her eyes, and they entertain her. She is the centre of the world . . . She’s an inspiration for elegance.’
He added: ‘She had something unique. She is a kind of Greta Garbo, there is something unforgettable about her, the way she moves, the way she plays. She’s an inspiration for elegance. For attitude.’
With her bank balance looking as healthy as it does the world clearly agrees...
