Just when you thought the world couldn't get any more bizarre, an influencer comes along and shatters your illusions about mirror selfies. You might think this isn't exactly a rich seam for conspiracy theories to run wild - it's just people taking selfies in mirrors, right? - but that's where you're wrong because...THERE IS NO MIRROR!
Our whistleblower in this case is influencer Kara Del Toro, who posted a video that has since clocked up more than 400,000 likes called, 'Selfie secrets bloggers don't want you to know part 1'.
She goes on to pose thought experiments that have probably never crossed your mind - 'It just seems like they have mirrors in all the most convenient places with, as I said, no smudges,' - and then she goes in for the bombshell. 'So here's the secret: there is no mirror.' Whaaaaaaat? As she explains, what influencers do is use the phone you can see in the photo as purely a prop and use a second phone or camera, arranged on a tripod and set to self-timer, to take a photo of them taking a photo in the 'mirror'. Geddit? If you can see an actual mirror then it's a legit mirror selfie. If not, now you know that you don't know anything.
