As if starring in one of the most viewed Netflix shows ever wasn’t enough, Millie Bobby Brown is fast becoming fashion’s breakout star to watch.
Magazine covers? Hanging out with Winona Ryder at Fashion Week? A top secret project with Louis Vuitton? At just 12-years-old the pint-sized actress has built up an impressive CV after mere months in the spotlight.
And now the mini fashionista has been cast in one of the biggest Spring 2017 campaigns to date. To mark Raf Simons first collection with Calvin Klein, the former Creative Director at Dior has unveiled ‘Calvin Klein by Appointment’ - a bespoke line of distinct looks which celebrates ‘a new departure' for the brand.
'The NYC atelier’s celebrity by-appointment service becomes an individual line,’ the label announced in a statement across their social channels. Speaking about his debut line on Instagram, Raf said: ‘It’s very much about celebrating the American woman and American fashion.’ Millie Bobby Brown enthused on her Instagram page how she was ‘honoured to be a part of this’ “A cast of distinct individuals brings the idea to life: Strength of character is key. Whether famous or unknown, all are treated equally.”’
The imagery, shot by Willy Vanderperre and styled by Olivier Rizzo is meant to reflect the variety of American women and the trends from the 1920s through to present day. And both recognisable and rising models collide in the new ad which features Abbey Lee, Lineisy Montero, Kiki Willems, Natalie Westling, Selena Forrest and Tessa Bruinsm.
While CK is known for its iconic underwear and jeans, Raf Simons is keen to spread his fashion fairy dust. Rocking multi-coloured fringing and red trousers, Bobby Brown appears completely barefaced, with her signature pixie cut slicked back.
The most stylish kid in town is sure to take centre stage on the FROW next month at New York Fashion Week, when Simons makes his runway debut for CK on February 10th. Watch this space.
