Who are millennial shoppers? This is a question retailers are constantly asking themselves...
Why? Sure, we may earn £8,000 less in our 20s than our parents’ generation, but do not underestimate the consumer value of Generation Y (millennials are the masterminds of online shopping come payday - or any day really).
And now a new US study from resale marketplace, Poshmark, has determined the five most popular fashion brands for millennials. Zara and Mango fans may find this surprising.
The #1 brand?
Luxe yoga wear label Lululemon. Yes, the high-end sportswear brand has been around since the ‘90s but, thanks to clever endorsement from the likes of the Kardashian’s and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, has developed a cult-like following in recent years.
Athleisure fans will be well acquainted with Lululemon’s signature capri-length black leggings and fuss-free jackets the cool LA set can’t get enough of come gym time.
The survey data also showed Free People (FYI: if '70s Stevie Nicks is your style pin-up, this label is all you’ll ever need), Madewell (Alexa Chung’s go-to for easy denim and chic basics), Gucci and Adidas were also in high-demand.
Happy shopping!
