Melania Trump Wears An All-Black Chanel Outfit To Depart The White House

The Trumps have officially left the building.

As she waved goodbye to the past four years at The White House, Melania Trump chose a rather funereal outfit of all-black as she left with her husband, stopping to speak to the press on their way out. A chic outfit, it must be said, as it was made by Chanel. Whether or not the French fashion house is pleased to have been the choice of departure outfit for the least popular First Lady in American history remains to be seen.

In keeping with her husband's decision to snub Inauguration Day, forgoing the traditional welcome by the outgoing President to the incoming President, Melania wore her feelings on her sleeve if you will, sporting a black dress, black gloves, black handbag (Hermès), black shoes (Christian Louboutin) and, last but not least, black sunglasses to throw some serious shade on the new administration as her parting shot. The mood on their private jet to Mar-a-Lago? Actually, we'd rather not even think about it.

The look was about as big a contrast as possible to what she wore for her husband's inauguration four years ago, a duck egg blue design from Ralph Lauren. Still, today could have been worse. At least she didn't dig out the almost unmentionable, 'I Really Don't Care, Do U? jacket.
